SUV and Crossover Detailing in San Antonio

More surface area, more seats, and far more of the soiling that comes with families, dogs and cargo that nobody unloads for months.

Why an SUV is not just a bigger car

The extra work is not proportional to size, it is proportional to complexity. A three-row SUV has seats that fold, tumble and slide, each creating gaps that swallow food, sand and toys. The cargo area doubles as a dog space, a grocery hold and a place for job or sports gear, and it gets treated far less gently than the cabin.

Second and third-row footwells rarely get vacuumed by owners because they are awkward to reach. That is where caliche dust and playground sand accumulate, and where a full carpet extraction makes the most visible difference.

Family-specific soiling

  • Under child seats — spilled milk and food that has been sealed under a base for months
  • Seat back pockets and door pockets, which collect crumbs and wrappers
  • Cupholders in all three rows, usually with dried juice at the bottom
  • Pet hair woven into the cargo carpet and folded seat backs
  • Sunscreen transfer onto seats and door cards through the summer
  • Rear glass and the tailgate area, where hands and paws leave marks

Exterior considerations

Tall vehicles have large, flat horizontal surfaces — hood, roof, and a wide tailgate — all of which take direct overhead sun for hours a day. Those are the panels that oxidize first and the ones where a durable protection layer like a paint sealant or ceramic coating is most worthwhile.

Roof rails and crossbars trap grime and rarely get cleaned. So does the area around the rear wiper and the lower tailgate, which collects road film thrown up by the rear wheels.

Time and access

A three-row SUV in family condition is realistically a longer appointment than a sedan — often several hours more once pet hair or child-seat areas are involved. Removing child seats and clearing the cargo area beforehand makes a meaningful difference to both cost and result.

Common questions

Do you clean under the third row?

Yes. Third-row footwells and the wells the seats fold into are part of a proper interior detail, and they are usually the dirtiest area in the vehicle.

Should I remove car seats first?

Please do. It gives access to soiling underneath, and we do not reinstall child restraints ourselves.

How much longer does an SUV take than a sedan?

Typically an extra hour or two for a clean vehicle, considerably more with pet hair or deep staining in the rear rows.
