Frequently Asked Questions
How mobile detailing works, what it costs, and what results are realistic in San Antonio conditions.
How mobile detailing works
- Do you come to my location?
Always. Every job is performed at your home, apartment or workplace. There is no shop and nowhere to drop a vehicle off.
- Do you need water and electricity from me?
No. We arrive fully self-contained with our own water supply and power, which is why apartments and office lots work as well as houses.
- How much space do you need?
About a parking space plus room to walk around the vehicle with the doors open. A garage or shade is preferred in summer but not required.
- Do I need to be home?
Not for the whole appointment. We need access to the vehicle and a way to reach you if a question comes up.
- Can you detail at an apartment complex?
Where the property permits on-site vehicle work, yes. Policies vary, so it is worth checking with management first.
- What happens if it rains?
We reschedule exterior work rather than deliver a compromised result. Interior work can often continue under cover.
Pricing and booking
- Why isn't there a fixed price list?
Because labour scales with vehicle size and current condition. A menu price is either too high for a clean compact or too low for a neglected three-row SUV. See our cost guide.
- Do you charge more for very dirty vehicles?
Yes, because they take longer. We tell you that when quoting rather than on the day.
- Is there a travel fee?
Not within our standard service area. If a location is at the far edge of it we will say so upfront.
- How far ahead should I book?
A few days for standard services. Paint correction and ceramic coating need more notice because they occupy a full day or more.
- Do you offer recurring service?
Yes. Maintenance detailing on a monthly or six-weekly cycle costs less overall than repeatedly recovering a vehicle.
The work itself
- How long does a full detail take?
Four to six hours on an average vehicle in reasonable condition, and longer on a large or heavily soiled one. Anything advertised as ninety minutes is a wash and vacuum.
- Does a full detail remove scratches?
No. Scratch and swirl removal is paint correction, a separate machine-polishing service measured in days.
- Can you remove all pet hair?
The very large majority. On short hair deeply embedded in older carpet, some may remain — we will tell you what to expect.
- Will you get the smoke smell out?
Usually a dramatic improvement. On heavily smoked vehicles complete elimination is not always achievable, and we say so rather than promise it.
- How long do carpets stay damp after extraction?
An hour or two typically. We extract as dry as possible and the local climate helps.
- Is a ceramic coating worth it here?
Often, for a vehicle parked outdoors and kept several years. Not for a lease returning soon. See is ceramic coating worth it.
Local conditions
- How often should I detail my car in San Antonio?
Full detail once or twice a year, washing every one to two weeks for a vehicle parked outdoors. See how often to detail.
- Why does my car spot so badly after washing?
Hard water. Minerals left to evaporate on hot paint bake on. Drying immediately in shade prevents it; existing damage needs water spot removal.
- Can faded paint be brought back?
If the clear coat is intact, usually yes through polishing. Once it is peeling, only repainting will fix it.
